Several years ago, before I began working on Gambler’s Folly, I wrote a very long book. My first. Even then, I realized I would have to make at least two books out of it. The word count was astronomical.

It has been on the back burner since then. Recently, while I was going through some of my files, I saw it hiding in there among the rest of the To Do items and decided to drag it out and have a look.

I still love the story, but it will take a lot of work. So while I’m finishing the ending of Lady Calloway, I’ve pulled out Mistaken Identity to edit. I’m about halfway through the first round, and it will take several rounds before it’s even ready to send to an editor.

What is it about?

When Earth began to expand outward into space, they came across a star system with two habitable planets. Since them, both planets have been transformed into worlds for colonization and have been thriving.

Unfortunately, they don’t get along.

She is a music instructor at the university on her world, former military, and has a love of the martial arts.

He is the commander of a large regional military base on his world. When a tactical strike at their neighboring world brings her to his facility, he doesn’t realize she’s the answer to his current interplanetary problem.

All she wants is to go home, but that is forever forbidden. The last thing she wants is to fall in love.

While you’re waiting for new releases, why not check out some old ones? You can find my books at both Amazon and Smashwords. And watch for the release of The Russian, Book 3 from Gambler’s Folly.

Yes! The End. As in I’ve just finished the first draft of Scotch and Soulmates, which will be Book 5 from Gambler’s Folly. Now the work begins–the editing process.

And that’s the part that drives me crazy…

Still, it can’t be published until I’ve gone over it as well as I can, and then passed it on to my editor. But I’ll leave it alone for a little while, until it isn’t quite as fresh in my mind. That makes it easier to spot inconsistencies and mistakes.

Something else I find helpful is to upload it do my e-reader. I have one which isn’t a Kindle. Being able to see it as I would read a book makes things stand out better for me, for whatever reason.

So, what’s next?

The Russian, Book 3 from Gambler’s Folly, should be out soon. Watch for the cover reveal!

The next round of editing for The Trouble With Talents, Book 4 from Esperance, will be the next book in that series. This book continues Viviane’s story and brings in the new heir for her home clan, Connell, of Belfort.

Then I need to finish writing the ending scenes for Lady Calloway, a novel by Sultonna Nadine. It is a stand alone, set in an alternate timeline of Victorian England.

Looks like I’ll be busy for a while. This doesn’t even include the other stories I’ve begun and had to set aside to finish these. Or the ideas I’ve written down for more stories I haven’t even started yet.

Check back for details on releases and WIP’s.

And please review the books you read. It really helps authors out a lot.

Thanks to everyone and good night!

It’s about that time this evening, but a good night meme I saw reminded me of a passage from Jareth, First Lord.

How about a little snippet from the first book in the Esperance Series?

Looking up into the sky through the branches, Viviane realized tonight wasn’t just another night. She called it to Jareth’s attention. As they watched, the two moons above were aligning. In a few moments, one would completely eclipse the other, and for a little while this evening, only one moon would grace the sky.

“‘In the heart of winter, the two become one, the past put to rest, the
future begun,’” Jareth said, quoting the ancient legend. “Perhaps there is a
reason we came here tonight,” he told her, his eyes staring intently into hers as if he could read her soul.

Good night everyone.

Sweet dreams….

Have you ever had an idea in the middle of the night, written it down, and placed it in your ideas folder? And then forgotten all about it?

Yeah. One of those ideas.

While sorting through files yesterday, I came across a folder with book ideas in it, but it wasn’t in the place it should have been. Opening the file, I recognized the other ideas, but I couldn’t remember the last one.

Turns out it was another story line for the Speranza Series. Idea title–An English Werewolf on Gambler’s Folly.

Like I didn’t have enough on my plate from Gambler’s already…

Watch for The Russian later this year. It will be Book 3 from Gambler’s Folly, in the Speranza Series.

Next up after that will be a book in the Esperance Series–Talents–the continuing story of Viviane and introducing the new heir of Belfort. Connell is a ten year old little boy who must now train to become ruler of his clan. And he’s not happy…
