Yes, it’s that time of year again, when the wearing of the green, drinking green beer, and eating green food are all the rage.

But what if that isn’t your scene? Me? I just like to settle in with a nice book, maybe something with a Celtic theme to it, and a nice cup of something to drink..

Esperance. A highland world settled by people from the British Isles and then abandoned. And after centuries in this new place, some of them developed some rather unique abilities.

Or had they been there all along, hidden from the public in fear of persecution?

James Ferguson’s family has a way with wood, and a connection to the forest which would make most people nervous. But it was his family’s way to tell the women they were seriously interested in about their abilities. In James’ case, one woman ran into the street, was hit by a carriage, and nearly died.

He decided he wouldn’t try again–and then he met Morgan, with her dark hair and blue-gray eyes that drew him in. So tiny compared to him, he nicknamed her his Pixie.

But was she ready to meet the Green Man?

THE RUSSIAN?

The latest book from Gambler’s Folly, The Russian features Dmitri Ivanovich Volkov, a wolf shifter friend of Damiano and the gang. He’s been around a long time. Even he’s not quite sure how old he is, but of one thing he is certain.

He doesn’t need a mate.

He’d had a mate once, and when she’d died, he thought it would kill him. Since then, he has avoided entanglements. He’d outlived everyone he’d ever known, except for his current acquaintances. The pain was too much to deal with when it came to affairs of the heart.

Anyway, soul mates were once in a lifetime.

Weren’t they?

But when you’ve lived as long as Dmitri, perhaps the universe will give you a second chance

–in the shape of a petite blond with hazel eyes named Danni.

GAMBLER’S FOLLY–The Series

Mainstream Sensual, fantasy romance, shifters, HEA, PNR, M/F

Book 1–Gambler’s Folly.

Her husband lost her on one turn of the cards. Now the property of Damiano Leone, the dark lord of the underworld, Karianna is thrust into a world of glamour and danger. Now if she can sort out her feelings about this handsome and so very attentive man who claims her as his wife.

Book 2–Dante’s Angel

Dante was born on Gambler’s Folly, and though his family was originally from Earth, this is his first trip to their home planet. He wouldn’t have missed Dam and Kari’s wedding for anything, but it does rather accentuate his single status. Face it. Damiano had all the luck, from family and money to a soulmate. Dante had trouble talking to women, let alone asking them out. But thisall changes, when he meets Damiano’s sassy cousin, Angela, and he discovers his mouth has a mind of its own.

Book 3–The Russian

Dmitri is on Gambler’s Folly following up a shipment for Interpol and planning a nice evening with his friends, Dam and Kari, when he happens on a young woman in trouble. He didn’t need a woman in his life, but finds himself drawn to this petite blond with wide hazel eyes. Why he had given in to the urge to kiss her was unfathomable, but he couldn’t forget her honeyed-lilac scent or the fresh raspberries and white wine of her sweet mouth. How could he know Mother Nature was about to blind-side him with a soul mate?

It’s another Friday, the first full week of the New Year. How is everyone today?

My husband had a total knee replacement on New Year’s Eve, so things have been a little strange around here. But he’s doing well, up and around, mostly off his painkillers.

And I have a book to get out to all of you! I’m waiting for the final edits so I can get it formatted and then out to you!

I’ve told you a little about Dmitri, the Russian. But have I told you anything about the woman who steals his heart?

Danielle, Danni to her friends, is a young, petite blond with hazel eyes. She does pretty well working in the accounting department of Gambler’s Folly’s Interpol. But she can’t quite get enough together to find a place big enough so she and her mother can move in together. And expenses keep growing.

Her mother lives in a bad part of town, in the place she and Danni’s father had lived since they’d moved to Gambler’s Folly. But then the syndicate bought everything all around, and now owned the building her apartment was in.

Danni visited her mother every evening after work, and was always nervous walking home. She had to find a way to get her mother out of there.

And then her fears came to visit one night. On her way home, just as the sun was going down, a group of gang member surrounded her on the dark, empty street. In her heart of hearts, she knew she was going to die, until she felt warm, strong hands on her shoulders, and heard a stern voice telling the young men to disperse.

Watch for The Russian at Amazon and at Smashwords!

Wishing you all the very best New Year!

If you liked Gambler’s Folly, you’ll certainly love The Russian. Book 3 in the series of books from Gambler’s Folly, this is the story of wolf-shifter, Dmitri Ivanovich Volkov, and his soul mate, Danni.

No one knows for sure how old Dmitri–known to his friends as Dima–actually is, but he’s been around over 500 years at least. His earlier years were spent in what had been known as Russia, but since then he has travelled all over the know universe, mainly as a mercenary.

A little over 200 years ago, he met his soulmate Ilyana and they were together for fifty years. When she died, she took his heart with her to the grave. Since then he has hunted alone, neither wanting nor needing any type of romantic relationship.

He currently works with the Special Unit of Interpol, alongside Damiano, Dante, and the bear shifter who is the chief. On a trip to Gambler’s Folly, he finds a young woman threatened by gang members and goes to her rescue.

Maybe Mother Nature is giving him a second chance at happiness.

The Russian is now available for pre-order at Smashwords for $0.99. Once it is released, the price will go up, so go on over and check it out.

How about an excerpt before we go?

If it hadn’t been for her scent, he would have been fine. Lilacs with honeyed-vanilla and white musk had wrapped around him softly. Hazel eyes under blonde curls had drawn him in. He’d thought, after all this time, he had control over his urges. What had possessed him to kiss her?

Her mouth now, there was a treat. Fresh raspberries and sweet white wine still teased his palette. Between her scent and her taste, he was one messed up wolf. He wanted to run through the forest, roll in the leaves, and howl to his pack mates about this delicious female he’d met.

No, he wouldn’t see her again. He didn’t need a relationship. Life around him was too uncertain. Besides, he’d had a mate long ago and, when she’d died, she’d taken his heart to her grave.

He was here for a job. He had no time for females.

Yes! The End. As in I’ve just finished the first draft of Scotch and Soulmates, which will be Book 5 from Gambler’s Folly. Now the work begins–the editing process.

And that’s the part that drives me crazy…

Still, it can’t be published until I’ve gone over it as well as I can, and then passed it on to my editor. But I’ll leave it alone for a little while, until it isn’t quite as fresh in my mind. That makes it easier to spot inconsistencies and mistakes.

Something else I find helpful is to upload it do my e-reader. I have one which isn’t a Kindle. Being able to see it as I would read a book makes things stand out better for me, for whatever reason.

So, what’s next?

The Russian, Book 3 from Gambler’s Folly, should be out soon. Watch for the cover reveal!

The next round of editing for The Trouble With Talents, Book 4 from Esperance, will be the next book in that series. This book continues Viviane’s story and brings in the new heir for her home clan, Connell, of Belfort.

Then I need to finish writing the ending scenes for Lady Calloway, a novel by Sultonna Nadine. It is a stand alone, set in an alternate timeline of Victorian England.

Looks like I’ll be busy for a while. This doesn’t even include the other stories I’ve begun and had to set aside to finish these. Or the ideas I’ve written down for more stories I haven’t even started yet.

Check back for details on releases and WIP’s.

And please review the books you read. It really helps authors out a lot.

Thanks to everyone and good night!

Have you ever had an idea in the middle of the night, written it down, and placed it in your ideas folder? And then forgotten all about it?

Yeah. One of those ideas.

While sorting through files yesterday, I came across a folder with book ideas in it, but it wasn’t in the place it should have been. Opening the file, I recognized the other ideas, but I couldn’t remember the last one.

Turns out it was another story line for the Speranza Series. Idea title–An English Werewolf on Gambler’s Folly.

Like I didn’t have enough on my plate from Gambler’s already…

Watch for The Russian later this year. It will be Book 3 from Gambler’s Folly, in the Speranza Series.

Next up after that will be a book in the Esperance Series–Talents–the continuing story of Viviane and introducing the new heir of Belfort. Connell is a ten year old little boy who must now train to become ruler of his clan. And he’s not happy…
