I know, some people are very superstitious about today. But for our daughter, it has always been a great day. Anyone else have the same experience?

And it’s Father’s Day weekend as well! Wishing all of you guys out there a wonderful celebration.

As you know, Old Flame is now out there in the world. So far, all the comments I’ve heard have been positive, which is exciting. The down side is that I’m not seeing a lot in the way of sales yet.

This series–Gambler’s Folly— is a cross-genre paranormal/fantasy romance in a unique universe. The whole concept revolves around a vacation destination world and the capital city, Speranza. In book 1, we meet the owner of a high end, luxurious hotel casino chain–the Stella d’Oro– where high stake games of various sorts are played.

Remember, on Gambler’s Folly, every love story is a gamble, and Fate always plays the final hand.

What would you gamble for love?

The tone is sensual, and high heat in this paranormal romance series. Most couples are mature, featuring soulmates, fated mates, and a bit of off-world politics. There is strong emotional and physical chemistry between the couples, resulting in a forever bond.

In Old Flame, we have bear shifters. It is a friends-to-lovers story, with a bit of second chance in the mix. Our heroine is a widow going off for a month long vacation to our favorite world. After a surprise reunion with an old college friend–who is also traveling to Gambler’s Folly– sparks begin to become embers as they travel to their destination.

If your a fan of The Psy-Changeling Series, by Nalini Singh, Immortals After Dark, by Kresley Cole, or Dark Protectors, by Rebecca Zanetti, check out Gambler’s Folly and Old Flame!

And when you finish the story, please leave a review for me!

Have a wonderful Father’s Day Weekend.

And as always,

Now that Old Flame is ready for pre-order, how about a small preview?

This scene takes place in the dining room of the hotel. A man she’s never met comes over and starts to hassle her about an ongoing issue she’s had since her husband’s death.

“I don’t even know you,” she answered. “What do you want?”

“You may not, but you have received several letters from my boss concerning a debt of $10,000. We haven’t received your payment yet.

“You’re with them? I’ve written back and explained everything to your boss. I can’t find what the debt is for, and I don’t have the money to pay it.”

“May I remind you of a trust your late husband set up for you? Or that you can borrow money from this trust?” the man asked.

“I’ve explained about that, also. There is nothing I can do. Go and talk to my attorney. If your claim is legitimate, I’m sure he’ll do what’s right.”

“Mrs. Murphy, it isn’t wise to anger the people I work for. I suggest you find a way to pay us what you owe.”

“Look,” she explained, beginning to panic. “I don’t know who you are, or who your boss is, but I’ve never owed anyone that kind of money in my life. And I can’t imagine Joe did either.”

“Mrs. Murphy,” he began again.

“No! Go away. Go talk to the attorney, but leave me alone.”

Her whole attention had been on the man across the table, but Liz suddenly felt warm, strong hands on her shoulders.

“Listen, friend,” a deep and vaguely familiar voice told the man. “You have the lady’s answer. Anything more from you is harassment. Call it a night.”

“This is a private affair and none of your business. Go away.”

“You turned your private affair into my business when you shouted it across the dining room. You are bullying this poor woman, who I understand recently lost her husband. Say goodnight.”

“Listen, buddy, I don’t know who you think you are, but I can make big trouble for you,” the man threatened.

One of the hands lifted from her shoulder and the man behind her spoke into his com.

“Security? I need to have someone escorted off the property from the third floor dining room. I’ve sent a photo.”

“You can’t do that!” the man across the table shouted.

“I think you’ll find I can,” he answered, as his hand returned to her shoulder. Liz felt so much safer with him here.

Almost immediately, two hotel security guards came down and took the man into custody.

“Anything else, sir?” one of them asked.

“No, thank you. We planned to have dinner.”

“Yes, sir. Thank you.”

As they took the man away, Liz felt drained and slumped down in her chair. The hands left her shoulders and the man came around and knelt in front of her.

“I’m sorry your stay here has been marred…” he began, and then stopped abruptly, looking startled. “Liz? I mean, are you Elizabeth Stockton?”

Looking up into dazzling blue eyes that could belong to nobody else, she asked, “Kort? Is that you?”

“Yes. What are you doing in my neck of the woods?”

For some unknown reason, she sprang out of her chair and threw her arms around him. Tears previously held back began to trickle down her face.

“Hey, it’s all right now. I’ve got you. You’re going to mess up your makeup,” he told her softly.

So, are you ready to come with me to Gambler’s Folly?

Old Flame is scheduled to release on June 1, so pre-order now and get it as soon as it is released.

Viviane is the daughter of the neighboring First Lord, but she would love to break all ties to the ruling house. The pomp and circumstance are too tiring and frustrating for her. Recently widowed, she is faced with having to go back home until Jareth comes riding in to take her back to his clan. Somehow she neglected to tell him she’s the clan leader’s daughter…

Or then again, maybe not. This is Georgia we’re talking about.

Let me explain. About a week ago, I built a fire in the living room to take off the chill. A few days before that, it had been up near 80F outside, so I had no firewood in. We all thought we were finished with the heat for the year. Just in case, I brought a little more wood up.

And then it turned warm. All right, not warm. HOT!

Three days ago we had two days of 80 degree weather again. Ir had rained, so outdoors was like a sauna. I turned on the AC not so much to cool down the house as to draw the humidity out of the air. Same thing the next day.

Yesterday the high was 63 with drizzle all day. Today may reach 70. I don’t know yet. But the humidity is once again terrible.

In the meantime, I’ve been doing some writing and some reading.

If you like murder mysteries, check out the Widow’s Island novellas. (I’ve been binge reading.)

On the home front, I’ve been writing an article about Gambler’s Folly and working on Tiger’s Tempest. My editor is working on Ben of Blackstone’s Forge.

Tiger’s Tempest?

Think Tiger shifters meeting on Gambler’s Folly. She’s a forensic photographer. He is president of the security division for his families pharmaceutical corporation and working with Interpol on counterfeit drugs. They hadn’t intended to get married when he offered to play tour guide for her skiing and photography trip to Crystal Mountains. It just sort of…well, happened.

And Ben of Blackstone’s Forge?

Ben’s family has a way with iron, which makes their trade as blacksmiths considerably easier. He’d always thought he and Deborah would marry, but when he left the village to finish his apprenticeship, something happened. Now she will scarcely speak to them. Both his father and hers are rather strongly suggesting they each need to find a partner, but the only woman he wants as his wife is Deborah. And because of what happened while Ben was away, Deborah has decided she will never marry. Until their fathers get together and come up with a solution.

Wish me luck. With this crazy weather and the hectic schedule I’ve had lately, I’ll need all the help I can get.

In the meantime, catch up on the Gambler’s Folly and the Esperance series. Both are available at Amazon and Smashwords, as well as most other online retailers.

Have a great weekend!

Don’t Forget

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. It is a beautiful day out here today, so I’m thinking of taking the Lugnut for a walk.

And then tonight, I’m going to find something to read. I just finished The Forgotten Witch by Jessica Dodge and loved every page of it. Elements of magic and romance, past and present lives… I would definitely recommend it if you’re a fan of the genre.

What are you reading tonight?

Can I interest you in something romantic, with a twist of the paranormal?

Check out Gambler’s Folly series or Esperance. Or if magic is more your thing, try Master of the Fleet.
