Or then again, maybe not. This is Georgia we’re talking about.

Let me explain. About a week ago, I built a fire in the living room to take off the chill. A few days before that, it had been up near 80F outside, so I had no firewood in. We all thought we were finished with the heat for the year. Just in case, I brought a little more wood up.

And then it turned warm. All right, not warm. HOT!

Three days ago we had two days of 80 degree weather again. Ir had rained, so outdoors was like a sauna. I turned on the AC not so much to cool down the house as to draw the humidity out of the air. Same thing the next day.

Yesterday the high was 63 with drizzle all day. Today may reach 70. I don’t know yet. But the humidity is once again terrible.

In the meantime, I’ve been doing some writing and some reading.

If you like murder mysteries, check out the Widow’s Island novellas. (I’ve been binge reading.)

On the home front, I’ve been writing an article about Gambler’s Folly and working on Tiger’s Tempest. My editor is working on Ben of Blackstone’s Forge.

Tiger’s Tempest?

Think Tiger shifters meeting on Gambler’s Folly. She’s a forensic photographer. He is president of the security division for his families pharmaceutical corporation and working with Interpol on counterfeit drugs. They hadn’t intended to get married when he offered to play tour guide for her skiing and photography trip to Crystal Mountains. It just sort of…well, happened.

And Ben of Blackstone’s Forge?

Ben’s family has a way with iron, which makes their trade as blacksmiths considerably easier. He’d always thought he and Deborah would marry, but when he left the village to finish his apprenticeship, something happened. Now she will scarcely speak to them. Both his father and hers are rather strongly suggesting they each need to find a partner, but the only woman he wants as his wife is Deborah. And because of what happened while Ben was away, Deborah has decided she will never marry. Until their fathers get together and come up with a solution.

Wish me luck. With this crazy weather and the hectic schedule I’ve had lately, I’ll need all the help I can get.

In the meantime, catch up on the Gambler’s Folly and the Esperance series. Both are available at Amazon and Smashwords, as well as most other online retailers.

Have a great weekend!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. It is a beautiful day out here today, so I’m thinking of taking the Lugnut for a walk.

And then tonight, I’m going to find something to read. I just finished The Forgotten Witch by Jessica Dodge and loved every page of it. Elements of magic and romance, past and present lives… I would definitely recommend it if you’re a fan of the genre.

What are you reading tonight?

Can I interest you in something romantic, with a twist of the paranormal?

Check out Gambler’s Folly series or Esperance. Or if magic is more your thing, try Master of the Fleet.

And as always,

Yes! The final edits are finished on Too Many Talents. Now for the formatting. Which hopefully won’t take too long.

I love writing, the creative process. And I love my computer because it makes this process so much easier. But when it comes to formatting, me and computers don’t get along.

But with any luck, you will have Book 4 from Esperance very soon. Ebook will be out on Smashwords and Kindle first, with paperback and hardcover to follow on Amazon.

So what is it about?

After a frightening incident at her brother’s trial, Viviane would like to forget all about Talents and let them fade away. Unfortunately, the more she resists the training, the more trouble it causes. When she accidentally throws her instructors desk into a wall and then throws energy at him in her frustration, she takes the only way out that comes to mind. She teleports to the mountain cabin, throwing the entire household into a panic trying to find her.

Another thing weighing on her mind is why she isn’t pregnant yet. They’ve been together long enough to have had a child by now, but nothing. What if she can’t give Jareth an heir to his clan?

Over in Belfort, Connell, the new heir who is almost eleven, is having troubles of his own. He misses his old home and friends since he’s moved to his grandfather’s house to train. And he still doesn’t quite understand the need for all these Talents. But an incident with a little admirer helps put things into perspective.

Of course, when he later finds out she’s been hurt, his anger and frustration bring out another Talent for him to work on…

Join Jareth, Viviane, Connell, and all their friends on their delightful world–Esperance–where there’s never a dull moment.

Have a wonderful weekend.

And as always,

Don’t Forget…

Yes! I have the final edits for Too Many Talents. Now for a read through on my end and I can begin formatting it for ebook, paperback, and hardcover.

I’m not sure which bit I dislike the most–editing or formatting. But they are both right up there on my “do I gotta?” list.

So watch here for the release date. And if you want a little preview, go back and check out the post on Too Many Talents.

If you haven’t read the previous three books, go to Amazon and look for the Esperance Series.

Until later,

And what a week it has been.

Last Wednesday my husband went in for a total hip replacement. While he’s been recovering nicely, things have been a bit on the chaotic side around here. Our daughter, who is a nurse, came up to give me a hand with all the medications and exercises, not to mention keeping the house managed.

So I’ve been absent for a little bit.

What’s been happening in your world?

If you need a break, I have three different “vacations spots” for you to choose from. The fares are pretty cheap and you don’t even have to leave home to visit.

Vacation spot #1: Esperance.

This spot has the advantage of being a slower paced world with a lot to offer in the way of natural beauty. The people are friendly and you might catch a glimpse of some paranormal Talents among the locals. And watch the romances develop!

Vacation spot #2: Gambler’s Folly

If you like life in the fast lane, this world might be for for you. Whatever you like to do, you can find it here, from casinos and night clubs to scenic mountains; from white or black sandy beaches to skiing resorts. Just be warned. The law enforcement there is tough on contraband and they have a whole department of shifters to help sniff it out. There may be some who are finding mates, so watch for the sparks!

Vacation spot #3: The Cote d’Or

For this spot we’ll travel across dimensions to a Pacific Northwest quite a bit different than the one you’re used to. Go back to a time where horses and carriages were the main means of transportation in a world where magic is just a part of every day life. And one of the wealthiest men in town is trying to sort out his love life. A weather-shaper and Master of the Fleet, Richard can command wind and water, but can he win his lady’s heart?

Don’t have time for a full length novel? Check out some of my shorter works at Vocal.Media!

There are several different types of stories there from The Walk and The Box to Moonlight and Shadows.

I love fresh spices and the flavors seem a little brighter if you grind them right before using them. I love to do this with coriander, cumin, cardamom and peppercorns.

And most of the time this works out well.

Except with peppercorns.

For some reason I tend to forget that the grinder produces a fine, powdery dust which billows out of the grinder if you open it too soon. You need to give it a few seconds to settle. Otherwise…

Yes. You get a nose full of pepper dust and think you’re going to die from sneezing. And coughing. And grab a fresh box of tissues, because you’re gonna have a runny nose for an hour.

But the pepper is ground, I’ve nearly recovered, and the steaks are ready for the grill Now as soon as the grill is ready, it can all go out to the grill master–my guy who is home for the weekend–and I can ready everything else for dinner while he works his magic.

Got any weekend plans?

I’ll take some time this weekend and do some more editing on Lady Calloway. I must cut it down by at least 15,000 words. (sigh) I really kind of envy those people who need to bulk up their word count. Me and short stories? Doesn’t happen, unless you consider short around 75,000 words.

Yeah. Really.

If you’re looking for something to read, go check out my books on Smashwords or Amazon. I may go over to Smashwords later and see about some sales for the weekend…

Prefer paperbacks?

Dante’s Angel is now available in print from Amazon!

Have a great weekend.

Watch out for the peppercorns!

And as always.

How is everyone this week? It has been a long week here, with several medical appointments and various other activities. So my writing is a little behind, as is my laundry.

Do you have a Goodreads account? I am just starting to get Goodreads figured out. I know. I’m slow. But there is a lot of good information on there, and it’s a great place to find new authors and books, or support your favorite authors.

But I wanted to share the new reviews for Jareth, First Lord and for Master of the Fleet which are up on Goodreads!

Five stars each! I am a happy writer!

So if you’re looking for something to read this weekend, go on over to Mellie Miller on Amazon, (for Jareth), Sultonna Nadine (For Master of the Fleet), or Smashwords and check them out!

You can find me on Goodreads by clicking the link.

Wishing you a wonderfully relaxing weekend!
