The story continues for Viviane and Jareth, with more steamy nights, as well as those pesky Talents to tame.
And don’t forget Connell, Belfort’s new heir. He’s having a time getting a handle on his Talents as well. But he discovers he can communicate with his Aunt Viv, which helps a bit.
Yes, all the books in my Esperance Series on on sale this week, through October 7!
Why, you ask?
Too Many Talents has been released and I know some of you have read only one or two of the series. And if you’re like the rest of us, money is a little tight these days.
So if you’ve been on the fence, now’s the time to go ahead and take the plunge.
Go over to Smashwords, to my profile page, and use the coupon codeTN33P when you check out. Each book in the series is on sale for $1.49. Now, I ask you, what else can you get for that price these days?
Jareth, First Lord–Book 1 begins the series just before Jareth and Viviane meet. And then the fun begins as he tries to win her heart.
Viviane, First Lady–Book 2continues the story of Jareth and Viviane as she strives to gain control over Talents which have suddenly appeared, throwing the whole house into chaos.
Morgan–The Pixie and the Green Man–Book 3. This book is inset into the story to showcase Morgan, who appeared in Book 1. There was just something about her I wanted to explore, so I gave her a story of her own.
Too Many Talents–Viviane and Connell–Book 4. This picks up the story from Book 2, after Jareth and Viviane return from a visit to Clan Belfort. Still working to manage her Talents, and yet resisting them at the same time, causes a few major manifestations of Talent gone wrong.
In her home clan of Belfort, her nephew, the new heir of the clan, is struggling with his Talents, as well as wondering why they are necessary.
So come with me and join the fun on Esperance, a wonderful world full of mischief, magic, and romance.

Have a fantastic week and weekend! Enjoy the cooler autumn weather.
Yes! Too Many Talents is now live and available for Kindle and at Smashwords! Book 4 of the Esperance Series, it continues where Book 2 finished, just after Jareth and Viviane get home from her brother’s trial.
After the incident at her brother’s trial, Viviane is even more certain she doesn’t want Talents. But resisting her training brings more trouble in the form of unintentional manifestations of Talents. And when she throws energy at her instructor in anger, she teleports away from the house in a panic at what could have happened.
With the whole house in an uproar, Jareth is finally able to find her and convince her to devote herself wholeheartedly to her training.
Meanwhile, in her home clan of Belfort, her nephew, Connell, is having difficulties of his own. First he had to leave his village, his family, and his friends to the clan center with his grandparents. There was just no way for him to keep up with his schoolwork and begin training his Talents.
But why does he need Talents? Will they really come in useful?
When his little admirer, Nellie, is assaulted and he uses his Talents to rescue her, he begins to get an idea of what it means to be Talented and a First Lord.
And when she is hurt again and he can’t go to her to help, his frustration and anger bring out another Talent for him to train.
Come with me to Esperance and join us in the ups and downs, the trials and triumphs, and everything else which makes this world unique.
Yes! The final edits are finished on Too Many Talents. Now for the formatting. Which hopefully won’t take too long.
I love writing, the creative process. And I love my computer because it makes this process so much easier. But when it comes to formatting, me and computers don’t get along.
But with any luck, you will have Book 4 from Esperance very soon. Ebook will be out on Smashwords and Kindle first, with paperback and hardcover to follow on Amazon.
So what is it about?
After a frightening incident at her brother’s trial, Viviane would like to forget all about Talents and let them fade away. Unfortunately, the more she resists the training, the more trouble it causes. When she accidentally throws her instructors desk into a wall and then throws energy at him in her frustration, she takes the only way out that comes to mind. She teleports to the mountain cabin, throwing the entire household into a panic trying to find her.
Another thing weighing on her mind is why she isn’t pregnant yet. They’ve been together long enough to have had a child by now, but nothing. What if she can’t give Jareth an heir to his clan?
Over in Belfort, Connell, the new heir who is almost eleven, is having troubles of his own. He misses his old home and friends since he’s moved to his grandfather’s house to train. And he still doesn’t quite understand the need for all these Talents. But an incident with a little admirer helps put things into perspective.
Of course, when he later finds out she’s been hurt, his anger and frustration bring out another Talent for him to work on…
Join Jareth, Viviane, Connell, and all their friends on their delightful world–Esperance–where there’s never a dull moment.
I am often asked if I use a pen name. And the answer to that is both yes and no.
How can it be both?
When I first started writing and publishing my books, I used my actual name, mainly because it never occurred to me not to. Yeah, I’m a little slow.
But then I mentioned to a friend that my mother had another name picked out for me, but was pressured to name me after my two grandmothers. My dad was the eldest son of his family and I would be the first grandchild on my mother’s side. So she got overruled. When he asked what the name was, I told him. Sultonna Nadine. And he loved the name.
I told him he could name one of his characters Sultonna if he’d like, but he said no. The name was mine and I should use it somewhere. Maybe as a pen name. I thought it was a wonderful idea to honor my mother’s choice of names for me. And honestly, I’d always wished she’d given me the name she’d chosen. I feel more a Sultonna than a Mellie most times.
Since I already had both series started under Mellie Miller, I wasn’t sure what to do with the name, until I had the idea for Master of the Fleet. It didn’t fit in either series, but I loved the story. What if I wrote stand alone novels under a different name…
Et voila! Sultonna Nadine the author is born!
So there you have it–the story behind the author. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn’t like the spelling of Sultonna, so if you do a search, it will always come up with a different suggestion. But Sultonna it is.
Am I going to write more under this name?
Absolutely! I actually have two different stories ready for professional editing for Sultonna Nadine. I hope to have one of them out this winter. So keep an eye on this blog for news of a release.
Have a wonderful weekend and a splendid month of September–my birth month!
But at long last, I think autumn is on the way. I hope this heat wave over the weekend is Mother Nature’s last hurrah for summer.
So what’s in the works?
Too Many Talents, the fourth book from Esperance, should be out soon. I know, I keep saying that, but we’ve had to go back for more rewrites. Me and beginnings just don’t seem to get along. I’m fine after the first chapter. For some reason, most of my ideas start somewhere around Chapter 3. Weird…
And hopefully by the end of the year, there will be another Sultonna Nadine book out. I’ve finished my last edit on Whiskey Jug Genie before the editor gets her hands on it. It isn’t as long as most of my novels and while it deals with magic, the romance is sort of low key.
Martin runs an apothecary shop in London. While on vacation in the southern USA, he finds an old whiskey jug to add to his collection of old bottles and jugs. What he doesn’t realize until he gets it home is that a genie is trapped inside. And once Bubba is released, things become…complicated.
So watch for Whiskey Jug Genie. And yes, Sultonna Nadineis the correct spelling of the name, no matter what Amazon says.
Last Wednesday my husband went in for a total hip replacement. While he’s been recovering nicely, things have been a bit on the chaotic side around here. Our daughter, who is a nurse, came up to give me a hand with all the medications and exercises, not to mention keeping the house managed.
So I’ve been absent for a little bit.
What’s been happening in your world?
If you need a break, I have three different “vacations spots” for you to choose from. The fares are pretty cheap and you don’t even have to leave home to visit.
This spot has the advantage of being a slower paced world with a lot to offer in the way of natural beauty. The people are friendly and you might catch a glimpse of some paranormal Talents among the locals. And watch the romances develop!
If you like life in the fast lane, this world might be for for you. Whatever you like to do, you can find it here, from casinos and night clubs to scenic mountains; from white or black sandy beaches to skiing resorts. Just be warned. The law enforcement there is tough on contraband and they have a whole department of shifters to help sniff it out. There may be some who are finding mates, so watch for the sparks!
For this spot we’ll travel across dimensions to a Pacific Northwest quite a bit different than the one you’re used to. Go back to a time where horses and carriages were the main means of transportation in a world where magic is just a part of every day life. And one of the wealthiest men in town is trying to sort out his love life. A weather-shaper and Master of the Fleet, Richard can command wind and water, but can he win his lady’s heart?
Don’t have time for a full length novel? Check out some of my shorter works at Vocal.Media!
I don’t know if you’ve ever been out West in the high desert of Wyoming. Or if you’ve ever experienced the full moon over the high desert.
If not, you have missed something truly magical. There is a particular feeling the area has once you get out away from any towns. The feeling that anything in the world could happen there in the shifting light.
Some people find it uncomfortable. Some find it downright spooky.
I love it, this mystical world. It almost makes me believe in the old stories of shape shifters and the fae.
As you know, I normally write novel length books. But every now and again, something shorter lodges in my brain. And that’s what happened with Moonlight and Shadows. It was an idea which came to me every night as I tried to sleep. And I knew I would have to write it before it would relent.
Meet DEA agent Shane Shadowstalker. He’s on his way to a meeting, or he would be if traffic would get a move on. Of course there is another option…
Come with me into the desert with Shane and watch the story unfold.
Moonlight and Shadows. A story in a real world place with other worldly undercurrents. A place I love and hope to visit again under the moonlight.
Yes, the sale ends on July 31, and then all my books will go back to their normal prices.
So if you’ve never read one of my books, or if you need to finish a series but were waiting to save money, now is the time.

I also have Master of the Fleet, a stand alone under the name Sultonna Nadine. It is also available right now for $0.99.
And what else can you get these days for less than a buck?
So head on over to Smashwords and find something you like.

Esperance is more laid back, but with psychic Talents in abundance.
Master of the Fleet is a world where magic is real, but doesn’t seem to help Richard’s love life.
